Sizzling Summer Sunset, Statue of Liberty, New York City.
I like to go out and shoot the Statue of Liberty in the summer time when the sun is positioned such that it passes right behind the statue on its way down into the horizon. This photo was one of those occasions, except that real magic happened after the sun set. The horizon became intensely pinkish red and yellow, like hot coals. I had brought along some Velvia 50 slide film, which tends to exaggerate colors, sometimes in a surreal way. The combination of the punchy film and the intensively dramatic sky produced this very unique color palette that was entirely accomplished in my camera, without the crutch of Photoshop or other editing software. The colors pop like neon off of the print and will add a vibrant splash of color to any room. This photograph is recommended in sizes 36"x36", 48"x48"as well as 60"x60" in either 2 or 3 piece sectionals. Additional sizes may be available upon request.Add to Lightbox Download
